Welcome To Our School
We are a happy Church school with a strong Christian ethos, committed to helping your child be the best that they can be. The current school began in 2005 after an amalgamation of two schools: All Saints (our town site building) and St. Stephen’s (our Tovil site building). It was Archbishop Courtenay who built All Saints Church and as he had a firm belief in education, it is fitting that this school is named after him. We are pleased to have very strong links with the parish of All Saints with St. Phillips and St. Stephens and as a school community, regularly worship together at All Saints church.
Community is important to us. We value working in partnership with parents and carers, the church, the pre-school, Maidstone Lions, the Governing body and of course, the pupils. We believe that when we work together, we can achieve more.
We believe too in giving our children a voice. We have a very effective school council which meets regularly and supports our school decision making processes. Children are elected by their peers and take their role seriously, recognising that they can work together to make our school a happy place for learning.
Additionally, children in their final school year serve as Head Boy and Head Girl or can be elected as team captains, prefects, librarians and monitors. Each child is proud of their role in helping other children. Play leaders and Buddies are trained to help others at playtime too.
Finally, let’s think about learning – the most important part of school life. We want children to achieve the highest standards that they can in school. Our curriculum reflects national priorities but we are working to ensure that it is also a creative curriculum, with opportunities to enrich learning through music, art and sport. We believe that children learn best when they enjoy school and enjoy learning together.
