Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate

On Monday 10th September we started our brand new topic called Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate which started with a massive cheer. When the children arrived everyone was amazed by the different designs and colours of the outfits everyone was wearing.

We started the day with some chocolate tasting which everyone was really excited about and loved. We had a mixture of dark, milk, white and caramel chocolate to taste and describe the feeling that they had in their mouths. Once we got over the excitement of the chocolate we were able to create a bar graph of our favourite chocolate bars.

After break, we played a traditional Mayan game called Pok Ta Pok. In this game you cannot use your hands or feet to control the ball. This game we found really tricky as we are used to playing football or handball.

After Lunch, we received a letter from Cadbury World which shocked us as we didn't expect this. Cadbury World asked us to design a new chocolate bar and persuade them to buy it.

To help us with our writing we spent a whole day exploring the textures, colours and mediums of the rainforest. We started the day off with trying different mediums on pieces of paper. We had pastels, paints, colouring pens and pencils and tissue paper. After break, we learnt some skills to help us use these mediums correctly and to create a small picture. After lunch, we designed and created our rainforest masterpieces using the different mediums.

We loved exploring and spending time thinking about why we should be using different types of artwork.
