Our Chicks

1 week old

Today we are one week old (31.5.18)! Unfortunately there are now only two of us, one chick was very small and got a bit poorly. We miss him lots but we are being looked after very well.

We have grown taller in this short space of time and we have also started to grow our wing and tail feathers. We have become much more confident and now climb and jump to higher places.

Chicks!

Today, Wednesday 23rd May, our first chicks hatched! We were so excited when we came into class this morning to see our first fluffy chick. Then this afternoon we were so lucky to see our second chick hatch, it was amazing and we were all so excited!! We cannot wait for the next two eggs to hatch and to hold the chicks.

Thursday 24th May:

We now have three fluffy little chicks! They have now moved into a bigger space with their brooder and we are enjoying watching then move about and getting the chance to stroke and hold them.

Our first time holding the chicks!

Today we were very brave and had a go at holding the chicks. We had to be very careful how we held them so that they did not fall. We also had to remember to wash our hands afterwards.
