Our School Development Plan is the school's short and medium‑term roadmap for improving learning, wellbeing and opportunities for every pupil. It sets a few focused priorities (for example: reading, writing, maths recall, EYFS provision and inclusion) and describes the concrete actions leaders and staff will take, the resources we will use, and how we will measure success. The SDP is driven by our values of compassion, friendship, resilience, respect and aspiration and is designed to ensure every child at Archbishop Courtenay thrives academically, socially and spiritually.

School Self‑Evaluation Form (SEF) — what it is and how we use it

The Self‑Evaluation Form is a concise, evidence‑based summary of how well the school is doing now — across teaching and curriculum, behaviour and attendance, personal development, early years and leadership — and where we need to improve. It brings together classroom monitoring, assessment data, pupil and parent voice and leadership reviews so we can judge the impact of our work honestly and plan the next steps. The SEF is the foundation of the SDP: it identifies the priorities we will include in the plan and shows how those priorities will be monitored and reported.

Publishing a clear SDP and SEF helps parents, staff, governors and the community see our direction of travel, understand our choices and hold us to account. It also demonstrates how we respond to assessment, inspection feedback and the needs of our diverse school community, including our high proportion of EAL and pupils eligible for pupil premium.
