At Archbishop Courtenay Primary School, we believe that nurturing the mental and emotional well-being of our pupils is just as important as their academic success. Our Happy Minds programme is designed to support every child’s journey towards becoming a strong, resilient, and confident individual. Rooted in our core values of Compassion, Friendship, Resilience, Respect, and Aspiration, Happy Minds helps children understand and manage their emotions, develop positive relationships, and build the skills they need to thrive both in and out of school.

Through targeted activities, supportive teaching, and a caring community, Happy Minds encourages pupils to explore how their brains work, understand their feelings, and develop strategies for well-being. We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and empowered to flourish.

My Happy Mind is taught across the whole school in weekly sessions, and consists of 5 units:

Meet Your Brain – Learning about how our brains work.

Celebrate – Understanding our character strengths and celebrating ourselves.

Appreciate – Developing gratitude as a habit.

    Relate – Building positive relationships.

Engage – Engaging with the world.

To further embed this learning, myHappymind has developed a Parent App. These resources can be accessed online on your computer, or through an app on your phone. The Parent App will support you as a parent in understanding what your child is learning, activities for you to do together at home and also a Kids Zone featuring myHappymind Games plus much more!
