Cognition and Learning

Cognition and learning difficulties encompass many types of SEND. Moderate Learning Difficulties, may be experienced by children who have a developmental delay, or by children who have a learning disability, such as those with the genetic condition Down Syndrome.  Specific Learning Difficulties, such as dyslexia and dyscalculia, are also included in this category.  See below for links to help with these types of SEND

The Dyslexia Association provides a wide range of expert and high quality services to directly assist and improve the lives of dyslexics of all ages.  They also have links and help for Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is the voice of dyslexic people.  They also provide courses to educate people about dyslexia, dycalculia and other SpLDs.

The Down's Syndrome Association holds a wealth of knowledge about this genetic condition and helps adults and children learn about, and cope with it.
