Summer term Week 1 Direct Speech

Direct speech is when you write what some one is actually saying.

Eg: "Good morning Nightingales," said Mrs Irvine.  "I hope you had a fabulous Easter.  Who is ready to get on with some learning?"

It is used in all sorts of writing, from stories to newspaper reports so it is important to know how to use the correct punctuation.  Have a look at these websites and links to help you understand then try to write a few lines of direct speech, maybe record what people say to you if you cannot think of anything.
