SPAG

LI to use expanded noun phrases

We have watched this clip before - watch it again to remind you what an expanded noun phrase is.

Could you write some expanded noun phrases in sentences using the words?

beast, lake, boat, monster

Could you now choose 4 of your own nouns (remember a noun is a name of a person, place or object) and make them in to noun phrases in sentences.

English

Listen to the next few pages of chapter 1.

Now see if you can use some of your words you used to describe Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf on Monday and Tuesday to make extended noun phrases in sentences. i.e.

you have the words Bilbo Baggins, dwarf,  human,  no beard.

The dwarf, Bilbo Baggins who was about half the size of a human had brown hair but no beard.

Gandalf -  hat, staff,  coat,  the hill.

The tall wizard Gandalf, who was wearing a dark coat, had a long pointed hat and held a bony staff stick as he walked down towards the hill.

Now let's have a little brain break and do some moves to Super Movers!
