LI: To know ways to stay safe online

Tuesday 9th February is Safer Internet Day.

To mark this day at ABC we would like children in UKS2 to check their understanding of all thinks online and have a go at an online game quiz that will educate them in ways to stay safe online and to then create a top tips poster to support their learning experience.

Task:

First:

Log in to

Be Internet Legends (beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com)

Play the be internet awesome game:  Reality River which focuses on whether what you see online is real or fake and how to tell the difference.

Then:

Create a tops tips poster for internet safety.

  • Your poster should highlight important information you have learnt (between 5 and 10 points)

  • Your poster should tell me what to do if I see or hear something online that makes me feel uncomfortable

  • Your poster should tell me about how to tell if something online is real or fake.

Interland

As you play the game make notes about things you discover that maybe you didn't know or that you think other children your age would find helpful to know.  These can then form the basis for your poster.  You need between 5 and 10 facts for a really great poster.

Remember to stay safe online. Look out for these helpful logos online
