Wake and shake.

Year 1 Phonics

Year 2

English

Do you know a lot about emotions and feelings?  Can you recognise emotions or feelings in story book characters? When we revisit the story of Jim I wold like you to keep in mind how the characters might be feeling at each point in the story.

.

Listen carefully to the story again, while you are listening I would like you to think about what the three main events in the story are.  Talk to your talk partner about these.

Which three key event did you agree on?

These are the three we came up with:

1) The first meeting

2) When Jim first helps the Giant

3) When the Giant threatens to eat Jim.

I'd like you to consider what the Giant and Jim might be thinking in each of these scenarios. Perhaps you could role play each scene with your partner or adult.  Then I would like you to record your ideas for each scene in thought bubbles.

Year 1 Maths

Today we are going to be counting in 5's

...

Science

Today we are using our senses to make observations and sort objects. First, let's learn what senses are.

Today we will be testing our senses using herbs. You may use fresh herbs if you have any or dried herbs from your cupboard. Describe what the different herbs look like, smell like and feel like. With your parents permission, you may want to find out what the herbs smell like.

Order the herbs from the one you like the most to the one you like the least. Take a picture of your ordered herbs. I wonder if everyone likes the same herbs or if our likes are different?
